When I heard the name "Knuckle Sandwich" I knew I had to try it!  The curiosity was killing me, having never had one and not knowing what was even in it.  It's the very unique sandwich only found at Lazzari's (1434 'O' st, Lincoln).  

Ingredients include:  Ham, pepperoni, salami, provolone, mayo, lettuce, red onion, banana peppers and feta cheese crumbles.

It looks like 2 pieces of pizza folded over and with some of the toppings I was thinking it would taste like pizza as well.  As I took that first bite it had a wonderful pizza taste, but it also immediately reminded me of a gyro mixed with a ham and cheese sandwich.  I love feta cheese and the taste definitely came through on top of the pepperoni & ham.  I know it may sound strange to mix a ham & cheese sandwich with a gyro mixed with pizza, but it's delicious!

Also, from a guy who likes to have his stomach filled when he buys a meal, this is one of the most filling meals on 'O' street!  Not only does it taste like a gyro and pizza mixed together, but it really fills you like you ate a full gyro and 2 slices of pizza!

Introduce yourself to the Knuckle Sandwich!  You will love it!  I plan to go back tomorrow for another Knuckle Sandwich!  This is one of Lincoln's best kept secrets.
